Pipan is a scientist, researcher, entrepreneur, business angel and a startup mentor. He is the founder and director of the XLAB research firm and the founder of the research group XLAB Research, which he has been leading since 2005, and was involved successfully in numerous national and international R&D projects. As a former researcher at the Jožef Štefan Institute, Pipan is primarily focused on distributed resource search and control as well as on the architecture of distributed systems.
As an active member of the Slovenian startup ecosystem, Pipan is the co-founder of the ABC Accelerator as well as mentor and investor in startups such as Koofr, Sentinel Marine Solutions, Datafy.it, Moj Mojster and others.
