The team of the Slovenian-English startup EqualEyes Solutions has once again won at the 24-hour programming marathon of one of the biggest tech conferences, TechCrunch Disrupt London 2016!

Team EqualEyes – Blaž Magdič, Joanna Alpe, Tine Poštuvan and Luka Topolovec with the director of the Techfugees network Joséphine Goube (in the middle)

Solution for better education of refugee children

This time, the Maribor-London team won in the category Techfugees, where they convinced the jury with their solution Sensei Hub that uses technology to help refugee children get better education. The project Sensei Hub solves the problem of educating refugee children who prematurely interrupt their schooling due to war conditions.

Burning issue of today

Continuing education in refugee camps is a big problem, for students as well as for teachers. Students often join the class at very different stages of learning, in ages from 3 to 13, and often move from one refugee camp to another. Teachers don’t stay with them for long and thus don’t get to know the students well enough to be able to ensure a quality and relevant education.

The project will come to life, partners are UNICEF Lebanon and Techfugees

The international network Techfugees and the entire team of EqualEyes are so thrilled about the project that they will shortly attempt to implement it in Lebanon, where they, Techfugees, and UNICEF Lebanon will try to realize the solution as soon as possible.

EqualEyes is looking for product leaders

Because of interesting challenges and projects, such as Sense Hub, EqualEyes is looking for additional reinforcements in all areas, especially project management! If you’re interested in working in team of the Anglo-Slovenian startup EqualEyes, send an email to luka@equaleyes.com.
