Sunrise Robotics, a startup headquartered in Ljubljana, has successfully closed an investment round of 8.5 million US dollars, aiming to fundamentally reshape the future of industrial manufacturing.
The startup was founded in 2023 by three experienced entrepreneurs: Tomaž Štolfa (CEO), Marko Thaler (CTO), and Joe Perrott (CCO). The team brings together exceptional talents with experience from companies such as Waymo, Red Bull, Google, and Unity.

Sunrise Robotics develops intelligent, flexible robotic cells that learn through simulations and enable fast, efficient, and cost-effective automation of industrial processes.
Instead of traditional time-consuming programming, each system is created in a simulation environment, where digital twins of manufacturing workstations are made. Robots learn using artificial intelligence in simulation and are ready for immediate operation upon delivery – often within just a few hours.
Fast results and market success
In less than 18 months, Sunrise Robotics has successfully established its first functioning robotic cells, which are already in use in manufacturing plants across Europe. The company also has signed letters of intent with more than 10 partners in the fields of electronics manufacturing, batteries, supercars, and other high-tech industries.
