Lemon Squeeze impresses jury with innovative solution for smart robotic lawn mowers, and ranks among top 12 teams in global Edge AI challenge.

The Slovenian startup Lemon Squeeze has ranked among the top 12 teams in this year’s international Infineon EdgeAI Startup Challenge 2025, organized by Infineon Technologies Austria.

The Infineon EdgeAI Startup Challenge is aimed at startups developing innovative IoT solutions based on Edge AI technology. At the center of this year’s challenge was the new AI Kit – a reference development board equipped with advanced sensors and powerful PSOC™ Edge controllers that enable AI models to run directly on the device, without needing cloud connectivity.

This year, 49 startups from around the world – including the US, Mexico, South Korea, China, and Europe – applied for the challenge. A professional jury selected the 12 most promising teams, among them Slovenian startup Lemon Squeeze.

The startup first connected with Infineon at the PODIM 2025 conference, where Infineon, a long-time partner, once again engaged with deep tech startups. After the event, the team applied for the challenge with an idea for developing a new smart device that upgrades the functionality of robotic lawn mowers.

Using computer vision and their own visual model, they aim to enable the recognition of garden pests (such as slugs, moles, etc.), weeds, patches without grass, and various plant species – which would allow for smarter and more efficient outdoor maintenance.

The selected teams attended introductory workshops on 3 and 4 July in Villach, Austria, where they received technical training and began individual business mentoring with Infineon experts. In the next phases, the teams will continue developing prototypes, testing solutions, and have the opportunity for long-term collaboration with Infineon.

Being ranked among the top 12 confirms the technological excellence, vision, and global potential of the Lemon Squeeze team. At the same time, it is a great example of how the right event can turn into a global opportunity.
