IP protection grants reopen for Startups and SMEs

Day 4. November 2025

Startups and SMEs can once again access non-repayable grants through the 2024 SME Fund, implemented by the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in cooperation with the European Commission.

Since 2021, the SME Fund has been helping small and medium-sized companies across the EU protect their intellectual property and strengthen innovation. Over the past four years, the programme has already supported more than 95,000 companies.

As of Monday, 20 October 2025, applications for vouchers are open again. Available options include:

  • Voucher 1 – IP Scan and IP Scan Enforcement

  • Voucher 2 – Trademarks and Designs

  • Voucher 3 – Patents

The reimbursement rate ranges from 50% to 90% of application and service costs. With this, European institutions aim to boost the competitiveness and innovation potential of companies, especially those in early development stages.

Who can apply?
All micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises based in the EU. A company must first apply for a voucher before submitting a request for reimbursement of service costs.

If you're considering protecting your innovation or brand, now is the right moment to make a move!
