Forum 100% Start:up
The forum was opened by the event host, the director of Technology Park Ljubljana Iztok Lesjak, MSc, and the secretary of state at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Uroš Rožič, MSc, who started his speech with the words: ‘At the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology we realize that we’re living in a time when it’s hard to be optimistic if looking at the economic situation in Europe as well as in Slovenia. However, I’m sure that we Slovenians have a lot of creative and innovative potential at our disposal and we have to use this for development and success’. The introductory words were followed by the announcement of the already sixth round of the competition Start:up of the year which is traditionally connected with the subvention for start-up companies P2 of the Slovene Enterprise Fund.
6th round of the competition Start:up of the year announced
At the forum, the organisers announced the already 6th round of the national competition of start-up companies – Start:up of the year 2013. With this competition, the organisers wish to recognise, professionally support and publicly promote the best Slovenian business teams, business plans and start-up companies. The deadline for entering the competition with a business plan is 15th of March. The winner will be announced on the 15th of May at the PODIM conference in Maribor and will receive 10,000 EUR of prize money and a ticket for the chosen CEED programme.
Up to 25 points for the P2 tender
Already traditionally, the Start:up of the year is connected with the offer of the Slovene Enterprise Fund and it will allow the competition participants to use their good placing to get up to 25 points of a 100 possible within the P2 tender. Competition Start:up of the year is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Slovene Enterprise Fund.
Entrepreneurs to entrepreneurs about speed and flexibility
In the continuation of the programme, the following will share their experience with the methods of agile and lean companies: Matej Zalar, Visionect; Andraž Tori, Zemanta; Igor Panjan, Smart Product Agency, Denis Benič, PrintBox; Voranc Kutnik, Agilspot, Alexis Zrimec, Vorteks; Filip Dobranić, Hekovnik in Tatjana Zabasu, RSG Kapital.
Forum and competition of the project of the initiative Start:up Slovenia
Besides the conference PODIM, the event 100% Start:up and the competition Start-up of the year are key projects of the Initiative Start:up Slovenia who wishes to join knowledge, will and vision of individuals and organisations by connecting the most important stakeholders of the Slovenian business ecosystem and so actively co-create a business-friendly environment. Key partners of the initiative are Venture factory, Technology park Ljubljana, Development Centre for Information and Communication Technologies from Kranj, and Technology Park Primorska.
