The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) invites small and startup companies to apply for the WIPO Global Awards. Among the previous winners is Slovenian company Aerosol d.o.o., which received this prestigious global recognition in 2023. Applications for the 2025 edition are open until March 31, 2025.

The WIPO Global Awards honor small and startup enterprises each year that leverage intellectual property (IP) to achieve their business goals while creating positive societal impact.

The awards aim to recognize and support businesses that:

• successfully translate research and ideas into commercial success,

• grow through IP-based strategies,

• develop innovations that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

New in 2025: For the first time, the program will include special mentions for:

• the Best Female Entrepreneur, and

• the Best Young Entrepreneur,
  selected from among the winning companies.

• a tailored mentoring program to support the commercialization of their innovations and creativity,

• covered travel and participation costs for the awards ceremony and networking events in Geneva.

Key dates & how to participate:

• Submit your application through the online form (in English) by March 31, 2025.

• Finalists Announcement: Up to 25 finalists will be announced in the second week of May 2025.

• Winners Selection: An independent jury will select up to 10 global winners by late May 2025.

• Awards Ceremony: Winners will be officially announced at the ceremony in Geneva in July 2025.
