€25 Million to Help SMEs in the Field of Intellectual Property

Day 24. January 2023

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has launched the call for applications for the 2023 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Assistance Fund.

SMEs based in Europe will be able to apply for co-funding for IP-related activities.

Protecting your IP is a must in the digital age. It is a legal way to avoid having your unique ideas, products, or services copied or used without permission. IP protection through the SME Fund can cover many different assets, including trademarks, designs, patents and plant varieties.

The SME Fund is a reimbursement program that issues vouchers that can be used to partly cover the fees for the selected activities. There are several types of vouchers available depending on the activity you want to implement:

Trade Marks & Designs €1,000 - To use for trademark & design eligible fees.

Patents €1,500 - To use for eligible patent fees

Community Plant Variety €225 - To use for community plant variety online application fee.

The EUIPO Academy is organizing a webinar on 31 January 2023 to present the procedure for applying for and receiving financial support from the 2023 Fund. You can register for the webinar (in English) on the EUIPO website.
