Guys from Apple and HoloLens are coming to PODIM this year!

While unstoppable Slovenian skiers have been collecting excellent sports results this winter, the PODIM team has been collecting excellent speakers who will make this year’s PODIM Conference an unforgettable experience with great value for all attendees! Globally recognized entrepreneurs, investors, managers and corporate representatives who will join us this year also include Chuck Goldman and Michael Nassirian, former bosses from Apple and Microsoft’s HoloLens, Sunil Sharma, one of the most visible Canadian investors, Rina Onur Sirinoglu, well-known Turkish entrepreneur and leading partner in 500 Startups Istanbul, and many other top-notch speakers. So mark your calendars – we’ll see each other at PODIM, the biggest and most influential startup conference in the Alps-Adriatic region, on 10 and 11 May 2017 in Maribor, in the Habakuk Hotel under Pohorje.

Coming up, we’ll introduce the first ten speakers of the PODIM Conference 2017. Esteemed names from the ranks of entrepreneurs, investors, managers and world-known authors and mentors. Amongst them are former bosses from Apple and Microsoft HoloLens as well as one of the most visible investors and startup activists from Canada and many other top-notch speakers.
 

Once again hosting 800 attendees

This year we are once again expecting up to 800 attendees from all over the world! Amongst them are 150 most promising startups from the region and wider, 50 esteemed investors from all over the world, and 150 corporate representatives from Slovenia and the Alps-Adriatic region.

Meet the first TOP 10 speakers of this year’s PODIM!

Below, we introduce the first 10 globally established speaker names that will enrich the programme of this year’s PODIM Conference:
 


Chuck Goldman
, excellent manager and co-creator of companies reaching billion-dollar values! Former senior director for enterprise professional services at Apple, he is today an investor and board member at Sky Ventures Group from Boston, specializing in investments into new health technologies all over the world.
 


Michael Nassirian, visionary entrepreneur, consultant and investor from Seattle. He has years of experience in tech giants Texas Instruments and Microsoft, where he was also a member of the leading team for HoloLens. Today, he mostly mentors and invests into teams of the esteemed b2b accelerator 9Mile Labs.
 


Demetrios Zoppos, well-known London-based investor and entrepreneur, whose co-founder experiences also include selling the startup onefinestay, which was bought by the hotel chain AccorHotels last year for 170 million USD. He is currently the executive chairman of the IOT startup Klevio. Before, he gained his experience at McKinsey & Co. and the World Bank, among others.
 


Sunil Sharma is one of the most visible investors in Canada and a managing partner at Extreme Venture Partners and Extreme Accelerator, board chair at Canadian Acceleration and Business Incubation Association, investor at Overbond and cofounder of Extreme Startups, one of Canada’s leading accelerators.
 


Rina Onur Sirinoglu is a well-known Turkish entrepreneur, investor, author and managing partner at 500 Startups Istanbul. She regularly shares her rich experiences at conferences, such as Techcrunch Disrupt., Davos World Economic Forum and Dublin Web Summit, while the rest of the time she focuses on supporting promising startups from the Turkish region and diaspora. 
 


Szymon Niemczura is CEO of Kontakt.io, the world leading Bluetooth beacon hardware company, and the cofounder of CodeWise, a marketing technology company. In three years, his team grew by 20-times, is collaborating with more than 17,000 business customers, and is present in four offices that do business all over the world.
 


Heather Corcoran leads outreach for Kickstarter in the UK and Europe, with a focus on the design and technology communities. Based in London, she closely collaborates with innovators, creators and makers, who use Kickstarter to launch and finance new sales successes.
 


Alexandre Massart is a successful entrepreneur, investor and mentor for innovative teams, products and technologies. Cofounder of the investment company Blend Ventures from London, he has more than 15 years of global experience in financing, building and leading companies that develop new technologies in the field of payments, mobile, and internet.
 


Nicolaj Højer Nielsen is a serial entrepreneur, business angel, lecturer and author of The Startup Funding Book. So far, he has co-founded and invested in thirteen IT companies, and his newest venture is the investment fund Copenhagen United for financing and mentoring early-stage software companies.
 


Matthias Hilpert is the CEO of the MH2 fund and an expert for sales and marketing. He can boast with 16 years of experience in the field of telecommunications, consumer electronics and media, and 11 years of experience with public investments, direct private investments, and real estate.
